Asst. Prof. MUSTAFA YASİN BAŞÇETİN

He was born in Boyabat in 1989. He graduated from Samsun Bafra Anatolian Teacher High School in 2007 and ranked 11th nationwide in the 2007 university entrance examination. He received his bachelor’s degree from Fatih University in 2011 and began his academic career in the same year as a research assistant at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University. He completed his master’s degree in 2014 and his PhD in 2019 at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University. Since 2022, he has been serving as an Assistant Professor at the same university. He was awarded the Prime Ministry Top 100 Scholarship between 2007 and 2011, the Turkish Language Association scholarship between 2012 and 2014, and a TÜBİTAK scholarship between 2014 and 2019.

In 2009 and 2010, he participated in Work and Travel programs in the United States. In line with the importance he attaches to language education, he attended German courses at Ankara Altın Geçit Course Center and Arabic courses at the Association of Arabic Educators in 2012–2013. He continued Persian courses at the Iran Cultural Center between 2012 and 2014 and attended Persian courses at the Dehkhoda Institute and International Center for Persian Studies in Tehran in the summer of 2013. Within the scope of artistic and cultural projects, he curated exhibitions featuring classical miniatures and collections of archival photographs: the Ottoman Period Miniature Art Exhibition in Málaga, Spain, in September 2017, and the Ottoman Period Jerusalem Photographs Exhibition in Jerusalem in March 2018.

He has also participated in various training programs to improve his academic, pedagogical, technological, and digital competencies. He completed the “Training of Trainers on Artificial Intelligence-Supported Teaching Practices in Higher Education,” organized by Akdeniz University Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning on 12–14 January 2026. He also attended various training programs offered by the Akademist platform on the use of artificial intelligence in academic research. In addition, he participated in the “Digital Humanities Workshop,” held between 24 April and 19 June 2026, and in the “Digital Applications in Classical Turkish Literature Training,” conducted online between 6 and 11 July 2026 within the scope of the TÜBİTAK 2237-A Scientific Training Activities Support Program. He also took part in training processes on MAXQDA, a qualitative and mixed-methods data analysis software, offered by Buracademy, Turkey’s certified MAXQDA partner.

He has knowledge of English, German, Arabic, and Persian.
