Biography

Dr. Hatice Merve İMİR graduated from Boğaziçi University in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. Subsequently, she obtained a master's degree from Hacettepe University in the same field in 2013 and a doctoral degree from Gazi University in 2018. Between 2011 and 2014, İmir served as a research assistant in the Early Childhood Education program at Mevlana University. Later, in 2015, she began her role as an assistant professor in Child Protection and Care Services at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, and between 2015 and 2018, she assumed the position of vice dean at the college. Her academic journey continued in 2018 with her appointment as a faculty member in the Department of Child Development at the same university. Since 2020, she has been serving as the vice chair of the Department of Child Development at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University.

İMİR's research and interests encompass various aspects of early childhood education, including children in need of protection, at-risk and disadvantaged children, alternative approaches to early childhood education, and cognitive development and thinking skills in children.
