Prof. HASAN IŞIK

Biography

Hasan ISIK graduated from Gazi University, Faculty of Education, Department of History Teaching in 2000. In the same year, he completed his master's degree in Gazi University Institute of Educational Sciences, Department of History Education in 2002. After graduating from this department, he completed his doctorate education in the same department in 2008. In 2009, he started to work as a faculty member (Assist. Assoc. Dr.) in Aksaray University Faculty of Education, Department of Social Studies Education. In 2011, he started to work at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of History, where he is still working (as Prof. Dr.). He worked as a visiting professor at Yarmouk University in Jordan between 2011-2013 and at Kharkiv Skovoroda National Pedagogical University in Ukraine between 2013-2014. He has been involved in various TUBITAK and EU projects and served as Erasmus and Mevlana Coordinator. Işık's areas of specialization are general Turkish history, history of Turkish education, history education, social studies education, local history, oral history, museum education, historical places, historical thinking skills, Crimea, Silk Road.
