Prof. FATİH ERKOÇOĞLU

Fatih Erkoçoğlu received his bachelor's degree from Ankara University Faculty of Theology in 1997, his master's degree from Ankara University Social Sciences Institute, Department of Islamic History and Arts, with his thesis titled "Reconstruction Activities from the Beginning to the End of the Umayyads" in 1999. He completed his doctorate from the Department of Islamic History at Ankara University Social Sciences Institute in 2006 with his thesis the title of "Abdülmelik b. Marwan and His Period (65-86/685-705)". He became an associate professor in 2013.

Erkoçoğlu, who speaks Arabic and English, has been working as a faculty member at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of History, Department of Medieval History, since 2011. He conducted research on his field in Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Israel, Palestine, Tunisia, America, Saudi Arabia and Spain. Erkoçoğlu, who continues his studies in various fields of Islamic history (Early Islamic History, Seljuk History, Crusades History and Music), has published books, book chapters, articles and presentations in symposiums organized at national and international levels.
