He graduated from the Faculty of Theology at Ankara University in 1997. He completed his master’s degree in 2000 and his PhD in 2007 at the same university. He worked for many years at the Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet), serving as Imam-Hatip, Preacher (Vaiz), and Mufti. In 2007, he was appointed as the Religious Services Coordinator in Albania, and two years later he served as the Religious Services Attaché in Nuremberg, Germany. In 2013, he worked at the headquarters of the Presidency as a Religious Affairs Expert. In 2014, he began his academic career as an Assistant Professor at Tokat University, Faculty of Theology. In 2017, he joined Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, Faculty of Theology. He became an Associate Professor in 2018 and a Professor in 2024. He has authored various books and articles in the field of Islamic History.
