Biography
Res. Asst. PhD Abdullah Vefa Karatas graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Law in 2013. Karatas completed his legal internship at the Ankara Bar Association in 2014. He received the title of science expert in 2017 with his thesis "Press Freedom During The Reign of Abdulhamid II" at Ankara Yildirim Beyazit University Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Public Law. Karatas was awarded TUBITAK BİDEB 2211/A General Domestic Doctoral Scholarship in 2018. In the same year, he carried out academic activities in Rotterdam, the Netherlands within the scope of Erasmus+ Internship Mobility. Karatas, who completed the conciliation training in 2019, successfully passed the exam in 2021 and was entitled to become a conciliator. At the same time, after the mediation training he completed in 2019, he passed the exam held in 2022 and received the title of mediator. Karatas earned the title of doctor in Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Public Law with his thesis titled "Appeal in the Ottoman Procedural Law of the Tanzimat Period" in 2024. Karatas, who has been working as a research assistant at Ankara Yildirim Beyazit University Faculty of Law since 2015, has articles and transcriptions in the field of history of law.
