Biography

Zeynep Tek completed her doctoral studies in Ankara, before joining Harvard as a visiting scholar at CMES. She is presently an associate professor of modern Turkish literature at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University. Her work focuses on literary dream narratives, the satirical press, comparative literature, and gender and women’s studies in the late Ottoman and early Republican period. She has published extensively on the subject.  Her biography of the twentieth-century Turkish feminist activist, poet, and author Güzide Osman entitled Feminist Mercekten Güzide Bir Arayış, has been recently published in Turkish by İletişim Press.
