Assoc. Prof. YÜKSEL SALMAN

He was born in 1967 in Bolu.  He completed his primary education in Çobankaya Village of the center and his secondary education at Bolu Imam Hatip High School. In 1990, he graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Theology.

After working as an imam hatip in Eskişehir for a while, he attended the specialization course at Haseki Training Center between 1990-1993. He finished the specialization course as the first of the semester. He completed his master's degree at Marmara University Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Islamic Law, Basic Islamic Sciences, with his thesis titled "Cases that reduce punishment in Islamic Criminal Law" (1994). He became a doctor with his thesis on "Amnesty in Islamic Criminal Law" in the Department of Islamic Law at Selçuk University Institute of Social Sciences (2005). Between 1995-1998, he worked as an imam hatip in Bolu and as a teacher of Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge courses. Between 1998 and 2000, he worked as a mufti in Kars Selim district. On 07.06.2000, he was appointed as an expert of the High Council of Religious Affairs. While holding the same position, he was appointed as the acting head of the Religious Publications Department of the Presidency of Religious Affairs on 14.12.2004 and as the acting head on 09.05.2005.  In 2019, Salman left this position and is currently working as a faculty member at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Faculty of Theology.
