Biography

He was born in Ankara in 1980. He received his initial training in Turkish music from Muzaffer Şenduran and Tolga Bektaş at the Gazi University Turkish Music Ensemble. He served as president of the Gazi University Turkish Music Ensemble from 2000 to 2004 and was a member of the Gazi University master instructor staff from 2004 to 2010, serving as assistant conductor of the ensemble. Kopar participated in numerous concerts as a singer and instrumentalist within the ensemble and taught courses on Turkish music theory, Turkish music styles, and the Turkish music repertoire. Between 2001 and 2003, he joined the Ahmet Hatipoğlu Turkish Music Ensemble and performed in the ensemble's concerts. In 2010, he completed his master's degree in Turkish Religious Music at the Ankara University Institute of Social Sciences, and in 2016, he completed his doctorate in Music Education at the Gazi University Institute of Educational Sciences. In 2023, he was awarded the title of associate professor in the field of music science/art. Appointed as an assistant professor in 2019, he continues to serve as the Deputy Director of the Conservatory and Head of the Wind and Percussion Instruments Department at the Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Turkish Music State Conservatory.
