Prof. SALİH YILMAZ

Prof. Dr. Salih Yılmaz, in his academic career, graduated from Gazi University (Bachelor's Degree), Sakarya University (Master's Degree) and Ankara University (Ph.D.). He worked abroad at the Maxim Gorki Institute in Moscow, Russia (2014-2015). He completed his doctoral studies about Uzbekistan. He carried out academic studies in Russia, Ukraine and Central Asian countries between 1996-2018. He speaks English, Russian and Turkic dialects such as Uzbek, Kazakh and Karakalpak.  

Prof. Dr. Salih Yılmaz has been working as a consultant on Russia-Türkiye relations. Yılmaz, who comments on the Turkish World, Russia and Türkiye's domestic and foreign policy on channels such as TRT Haber, TVNET, HaberTürk TV, NTV, Ülke TV, ATV, Izvestia, Kommersant, New York Times. His analysis and columns have been published in newspapers.

He made programs on TRT Radyo1, TRT Türkiye'nin Sesi Radyosu and TRT Russian channel. On TRT Russian channel, there are weekly analysis on Türkiye's relations with Russia and commentary articles on the foreign policy agenda. He participated in many workshops, projects and conferences. He has books and articles on Russia's Foreign Policy and Security Doctrines, Russia's Syria Policy, Ethnic Atlas of the Russian Federation, and Russia-Türkiye relations.

In 2019, he was given the Contribution to Türkiye-Russia Relations Award by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Russian-Islamic World Group.

He started his academic career at Muğla University and has been continuing at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, Department of History since 2011.
