Asst. Prof. ÖMER SELİMOĞLU

Asst. Prof. Ömer Selimoğlu received his bachelor's degree from Ankara University Faculty of Theology in 2010 and his master's degree from the Institute of Social Sciences in 2013. In 2020, he completed his doctorate on ‘Ottoman Period Music in German Orientalism’ at the Faculty of Theology at the same university. He started his academic career as a research assistant at Kırıkkale University Faculty of Islamic Sciences in 2015 and since 2020, he has been working as Asst. Prof. at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Faculty of Theology. His areas of expertise include Theology, Islamic History and Arts, Turkish Music wind and percussion instruments. Selimoğlu, who speaks German, English and Arabic, teaches ‘Turkish Religious Music’ and ‘Turkish Religious Music Repertoire’ courses at undergraduate level in the 2023-2024 academic year.
