Biography
Assistant Professor Özge Öz Döm is a faculty member at the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, Faculty of Political Sciences, Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University. Since 2025, she has also been serving as the Vice Chair of the Department.
She completed her undergraduate studies in Political Science and Public Administration at the Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences, Middle East Technical University (METU) in 2010. In 2013, she received her master’s degree from METU Graduate School of Social Sciences, Department of Eurasian Studies, with a thesis titled “Muslim Women in Central Asia: The Impact of Soviet Legacy,” in which she examined the effects of the Soviet legacy on women in Central Asia. She earned her Ph.D. in Political Science and Public Administration from Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University in 2020 with the dissertation titled “Conventional and Unconventional Forms of Political Participation: Motivations Behind the Political Participation of Youth in Turkey.”
Her research interests include political science, political sociology, social structure and change, history, and sociology. She is fluent in English (C1 level) and has published various academic works in the field of social and human sciences.
Within her teaching activities, Dr. Öz Döm offers undergraduate courses such as Political Participation, Introduction to Politics, Contemporary Democracies, and Human Rights; and graduate-level courses including Democracy and Citizenship and Civil Society and Politics.
