Biography
Dr. Nimet Yıldırım Tirgil has made significant contributions to a broad field of research at the intersection of biomedical engineering and biochemistry. Her publications include the development of molecularly imprinted electrochemical biosensors, a graphene oxide-modified enzyme inhibition-based biosensor system for nerve agent detection, and a multiwalled carbon nanotube, aptamer, and molecularly imprinted polymer-based biosensor for the sensitive and selective detection of various peptide biomarkers.
In addition to her academic and applied research, Yıldırım Tirgil has led many projects. These include the development and validation of an electrochemical biosensor system combined with magnetic nanoparticles for the analysis of cancer-associated single-base mutations, the use of graphene oxide/conductive polymer nanocomposites for the scavenging of heavy metals, and the rapid, sensitive and quantitative detection of SARS-CoV-2 antibodies with an electrochemical-based horizontal fluid testing system. There are projects such as analysis.
