Assoc. Prof. Dr. Merve Karacaer graduated from the Department of Economics at Bilkent University, completed her master’s degree in Business Administration at Ankara University, and earned her Ph.D. in Banking and Finance from Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University. She began her academic career in 2012 as a research assistant at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, where she has served as a faculty member in the School of Business since 2016. Between 2019 and 2024, she chaired the Department of International Trade and Business and has also worked as an Economy and Finance Specialist at the Institute of Strategic Thinking and the Geopolitical Foresight Institute. Her research interests include energy markets, financial management, portfolio management, and macro- and microeconomics, and she has published extensively in national and international peer-reviewed journals.
