Asst. Prof. MEHMET EMİN SARIKAYA

Born in Kalfat Town, Orta District, Çankırı Province in 1993, he completed his primary education in his hometown. He enrolled at Tevfik İleri Anatolian Imam Hatip High School in 2007, graduating with honors in 2011. That same year, he commenced his undergraduate studies at the Ankara University Faculty of Theology.

Upon graduating in 2016, he began his graduate studies in the Department of Sociology of Religion at Ankara University's Institute of Social Sciences. He later completed his master’s degree at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University's Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies, with a thesis titled, “Migration and Intercultural Interaction from a Sociological Perspective: The Case of Syrian Refugees.”

He earned his Ph.D. from the same institute in 2024 with a dissertation entitled, “Social Identity and Religion in the Context of Intergroup Relations: The Case of Ankara Önder Neighborhood.”

During the 2017–2018 academic year, Dr. Sarıkaya also served as a Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge teacher in the Şahinbey district of Gaziantep. He is currently an Assistant Professor (Dr. Öğretim Üyesi) in the Division of Sociology of Religion, Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies, at the Faculty of Theology, Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University.
