Biography

Mr. Professor Doctor Hüseyin Çınar was born in 1966 in Çeltikçi Kınık Village of Ankara's Kızılcahamam district. He completed his undergraduate education at Gazi University, Gazi Faculty of Education, Department of History in 1987; he completed his master's degree in 1993 at the same university's Social Sciences Institute, Department of General Turkish History; he completed his doctorate in 2000 at Istanbul University, Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Modern Age. Between 1987 and 1993, he worked as an Archive Specialist at the Prime Ministry General Directorate of State Archives, Ottoman Archives Department and the Republic Archives Department. In 1993, he was appointed as a research assistant at Kırıkkale University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of History, Modern Age Department. He worked as a lecturer at the History Department of the same university between 2000 and 2011. In 2008, he received the title of associate professor in the Modern History from the Interuniversity Board. In 2011, he was appointed as an associate professor from Kırıkkale University to Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of History, Modern Age Department. In 2013, he was appointed as a professor in the Modern Age Department of the same department. He still continues his studies in the same department; He serves as the Head of the Department of Modern History. Department Head, Department Head, Faculty Board Member at Kırıkkale University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of History and Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of History; He served as AYBU ITBF Dean from June 2022 to November 2023 and as AYBU Vice Rector between June 2022 and August 2023. He currently serves as the Director of Ankara Research and Application Center within the same university.

Mr. Çınar has been a Principal Member of the Scientific Board of the Turkish Historical Society since 2018. Due to this duty, he serves in various boards and commissions within TTK. Between 2010 and 2022, he served as a Member of the Editorial Board of the General Directorate of Foundations and as the science editor of the Foundations Magazine. Within the framework of his academic activities, he has been/is a consultant for various Master's and Doctoral studies in the field of History. He has various national and international articles and books on the Ottoman social structure, Ottoman cities and urban history, as well as Ottoman period foundations and social and economic history.   He speaks English and beginner level Arabic and Persian. He is married and has two children.
