Prof. ENDER ŞİMŞEK

Prof. Dr. Ender ŞİMŞEK completed his undergraduate education at Hacettepe University, Faculty of Science, Department of Biology with honors in 1992. Then, he received his master's degree from American University (Washington, USA), Department of Molecular Biology in 1997. He received his doctorate degree at Thomas Jefferson University (Philadelphia, USA), Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in 2005. After that, he completed his postdoctoral studies at Drexel University (Philadelphia, USA), Department of Microbiology and Immunology in 2007. After he returned to Ankara, Türkiye, he was appointed as a Doctor Research Assistant to the Department of Biology, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Sakarya University in 2008 and worked with temporary assignment as a doctor research assistant at the Department of Medical Biochemistry, Faculty of Medicine, Ankara University between 2009 and 2010. Then, He was appointed as an Assistant Professor to the Department of Biology, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Sakarya University in 2010 and worked with temporary assignment as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Medical Biochemistry, Faculty of Medicine, Ankara University between 2010 and 2011. Next, he worked as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Medical Biology, Faculty of Medicine, Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University between 2011 and 2018. He served as the Vice Dean responsible for education at the Faculty of Medicine until 2016, and as the Vice Director of the Institute of Health Sciences until 2018. In 2018, he joined the Faculty of Medicine at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University as an Associate Professor, and served as the Director of the Institute of Health Sciences between 2018-2020. Since 2019, he has been the Head of the Department of Forensic Sciences at the Institute of Health Sciences at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University. In 2025, he was appointed as a full professor at the Department of Medical Biology at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University.
