Biography
Demet Soylu graduated from Hacettepe University, Department of English Language and Literature in 2010. During the education period, she attended the Pedagogical Formation training at Hacettepe University Faculty of Education, Department of English Language Teaching and was entitled to receive an English Language Teaching certificate. After completing her undergraduate education, she worked as a Comenius Language Assistant in Sweden within the scope of the Comenius Program supported by the Turkish National Agency. She received her master's degree from Hacettepe University in 2016. In December 2021, she completed her doctoral studies at Hacettepe University, Department of Information and Document Management, and was awarded with PhD title.
She worked as a research assistant in the Department of Information Management in Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University between 2013 and 2022. Since December 2022, she has been working as an Asst. Prof. Dr. in the Department of Information Management in Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University. She is making research on information literacy, lifelong learning, gamification of the information literacy curriculum, gamification, gamification theories and approaches, information literacy instruction, green and sustainable libraries, library and museum architecture, educational theories, daily information needs, information seeking behavior, motivation theories, and learning design. She is interested in Erasmus Plus programs and projects. Currently, she continues to work as a researcher in two separate HORIZON 2020 projects, one based in Canada and one based in Kazakhstan. She takes part in various international projects both as a participant and coordinator.
