Prof. ALİ POLAT

Dr. Ali Polat graduated from the University of Istanbul, College of Political Sciences in 1997. He went on to complete his MA and PhD degrees at Marmara University, Institute of Banking and Insurance, Istanbul, Turkey in 1999 and 2007, respectively. During his academic pursuits, Dr. Polat gained practical experience in trade finance by working for several participation banks in Türkiye. In 2009, Dr. Polat transitioned to research and teaching by joining King Saud University, College of Business Administration, Finance Department, Riyadh, KSA as a faculty member. He held this position until 2014.

Throughout his career, Dr. Polat has also served in several public positions. In 2018, Dr. Polat was appointed as Associate Professor at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University (AYBU), where he continues to work today. During his tenure at AYBU, he also served as a visiting scholar at the University of Hail, CBA, Economics and Finance Department during the 2019-2020 academic year. Dr. Polat's research interests include international trade and finance,Islamic banking, banking operations, financial markets, and institutions. He has contributed to the academic community through publications and presentations on these topics.
