Biography

He was born in Sivas in 1986. He graduated from the Geological Engineering Department of Cumhuriyet University Faculty of Engineering in 2008. In 2020, he completed his master's degree at the Department of Islamic History and Arts of the Institute of Social Sciences at Sivas Cumhuriyet University with his thesis titled "Classical Turkish Music in Sivas in the 20th Century". In 2020, he started working as a research assistant at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Turkish Music State Conservatory. In 2024, he received his doctorate degree with his thesis titled "Turkish Religious Music in the Alevi Tradition of the Sücaaddin Veli Ocagi" which he prepared at the Department of Turkish Religious Music of the AYBU Institute of Social Sciences. He was appointed as an Assistant Professor in 2025.


Since 2006, he has performed ney in the Turkish classical music and Sufi music choirs of the Sivas Atatürk Cultural Center and the Sivas Municipality for many years and has also worked as a ney educator. To date, he has accompanied Turkish music vocalists in many national concerts, cultural events and TV programs. Since 2021, he has been taking part in the artistic activities of the AYBU Turkish Music State Conservatory as a ney player and choir conductor. He teaches "Ney Education" and "Fasil in Turkish Music" courses at the conservatory. He has an instrumental piece called "Hüzün" which was released in 2025. He is married and has two children.
