Prof. MAZHAR BAĞLI

Mazhar Bagli was born in 1965 in Halfeti, Şanlıurfa. He graduated from Selçuk University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Sociology in 1992. In 1995, he received his master's degree from Selçuk University, Social Sciences Institute, Department of Sociology. In 1999, he received his doctorate from Sakarya University, Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Sociology, with his thesis titled "Disclosure of the Privacy of Modern Consciousness in the Knowledge Process". He worked as a research assistant at Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University, Department of Sociology between 1993-1999. Bagli, who became an assistant professor in 1999 and an associate professor in 2006, served as a lecturer in the Department of Sociology at Dicle University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences in 1999. He worked at the University of Toronto, Canada, in 2004, and at the University of Houston, USA, in 2009. He is currently a lecturer at Yıldırım Beyazıt University, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of Sociology. Bagli, who has more than 50 articles and notifications published at home and abroad, has also carried out a series of projects on Traditional Custom and Honor Killings, Female Suicides in Batman, Levirate and Sororat Type Marriages and important regional problems. Bagli, whose articles are also published in daily newspapers, is married and the father of two children.
