Asst. Prof. ALİ İHSAN ÇETİN

Dr. Ali İhsan Çetin is an academic and researcher specializing in financial data analytics, statistical modeling, and AI-driven decision-support systems. He holds a B.Sc. in Statistics from Hacettepe University, an M.B.A. from Bahçeşehir University, and a Ph.D. in Statistics from Yıldız Technical University. Since 2021, he has been serving as an Assistant Professor at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, Department of Finance and Banking, teaching courses such as Statistical Programming (R and Python), Advanced Quantitative Research, Business Intelligence and Data Mining, and Social Media Analytics.

His research interests include machine learning, text mining, credit risk modeling, post-shrinkage strategies, algorithmic trading, and social network analysis. He has published in international journals such as Thermal Science, Kuwait Journal of Science, and Journal of Risk and Financial Management, and contributed to several academic book chapters.

Prior to his academic career, Dr. Çetin gained professional experience at Architecht Inc. and Kuveyt Türk Participation Bank, working in data science, analytical project management, and credit risk analysis. He currently serves as principal investigator in multiple R&D and academic projects funded by TÜBİTAK and Erasmus+.

He is proficient in Python, R, SQL, Power BI, and Excel VBA, and his ongoing research focuses on the integration of post-shrinkage methods with distance-based algorithms (such as FIIkNN) to develop explainable AI models for high-dimensional financial data.
