Prof. ZAFER ÇELİK

Biography

Zafer Çelik received his BA degree in 2000, Ms degree 2002 from METU Sociology, and his Phd. in Sociology from Hacettepe University in 2012; During his doctoral studies, he was a visiting researcher at Chemnitz University of Technology and Humboldt University of Berlin. Çelik worked as a teacher in public schools for a while. Afterwards, he worked as a head of department at Board of Education, Ministry of National Education. Since 2013, he has been working as a faculty member at Ankara Yildirim Beyazıt University, Department of Sociology. His research interests are sociology of education, education policies, comparative education, higher education, immigrant and refugee education.
