Özet

This study investigated the relationships among dementia severity, upper-extremity function, depression, and functional status in patients with Alzheimer disease (AD). Thirty-nine patients clinically diagnosed with AD and a healthy control group matched for age and sex were evaluated. The AD group had lower cognitive and upper-extremity function and higher depression than controls, while functional status were similar between groups. In the AD group, dementia severity was associated with upper-extremity function, depression, and functional status. In addition, upper-extremity function was associated with functional status and depression. These findings highlight the importance of comprehensive assessments addressing motor, emotional, and cognitive aspects in patients with AD.
