Özet
Hoca Hafiz Mehmed Zekai Dede who lived in XIX. century is one of the musicians who composed the form of ayin. In this research, three of Mehmed Zekai Dede's compositions in Mevlevi Ayini form were analysed according to maqams and usuls. It also tries to explain that how the "ayins" reflected the characteristics of the period. In this study, the usage of the Suznak, Suzidil, Saba Zemzeme maqams were reviewed to evaluate the perception of maqam in the 19th century. It focuses on the convenience of the maqam and rhythmical structure of the ayins with the generally accepted structure of his era. When considered in his time, Zekai Dede's ayins are composed properly according to the musical understanding in his time.
