Özet

Using hierarchical regression analysis, this study aimed to investigate the impacts of workplace ostracism and perceived organizational support on antagonistic work behaviours, withdrawal behaviours, and well-being. Moreover, comparison tests were conducted to see whether the perception of workplace ostracism differs according to gender, marital status, and employment status of the employees. We used convenience sampling method, and a total of 320 participants (90 female and 230 male) from Nigerian gas and oil companies took part in the study. Results showed that females, single employees, and part-time employees perceive more workplace ostracism. Three separate hierarchical regression analyses were conducted. Results of the first hierarchical regression analysis showed that employees experiencing workplace ostracism will be able to engage in psychological withdrawal behaviours when their perceptions of organizational support decrease. The findings of the second hierarchical regression analysis revealed that; employees experiencing workplace ostracism may engage in antagonistic work behaviour. And finally, according to the results of the third regression analysis, when employees perceived less workplace ostracism and perceived high perceived organizational support, they experience an increase in their well-being.
