Özet
Türkiye and Hungary have two great poets who continue to live in the hearts of their
publics. These great figures are Mehmed Akif and Sandor Petöfi. Mehmed Akif has
become the leader of the spiritual front during the National Struggle, raising the courage
and hope of the people with his thoughts. At the end, he was crowned all his eaorts with
the National Anthem (İstiklâl Marşı), which is, so to speak, the text of national consensus.
Sandor Petöfi had a life woven with struggles, thought about the construction of a
generation, built the minds of Hungarians with his verses, and has been recognized as the
great poet of Hungary.
In this study, Mehmed Akif’s and Sandor Petöfi’s ethical thoughts on the development and
strengthening of society shall be analyzed and compared based on their works. We
believe that the ethical thoughts of the two great poets are still a horizon and a guide for
societies even today. We will try to strengthen this idea in our study.
