Inferior vena cava (IVC) leiomyosarcoma is a rare clinicalentity. The best treatment for this rare tumor is completesurgical resection of the tumor and consequently resectionof IVC leading to the need for venous reconstruction.Ligation of IVC after resection or reconstruction includingprimary repair, patch repair or tube grafting with syntheticor biological materials are available. As the currentknowledge of IVC sarcomas is based primarily on casereports and small case series, it is of utmost importance toreport individual cases. In this article, we report a 69-yearoldfemale with IVC leiomyosarcoma who underwentreconstruction with a Dacron tube graft in the light ofclinical characteristics of the disease from diagnosis totreatment along with a detailed review of the literature data.
