Özet
Although Artificial Intelligence (AI) has a lot of potential for use in digital forensics, there are a lot of
obstacles to overcome, one of which is the ethical implications. However, the use of AI in forensic work
has led to worries about privacy and data security. AI should be used to respect ethical guidelines as
well, and more importantly human rights, the AI bias may affect individual forensic outcomes. The
transparency of AI algorithms, accountability for automated decisions and avoiding over-reliance on
technology are critical to maintaining public trust as well as preserving justice. AI is a disruptive return
in most of the sectors around including digital forensics. The use and importance are numerous, yet on
another hand so perilous. In this paper, we investigated the influence of AI on empowering digital
forensic investigations to automate and accelerate processes; enhance accuracy; mitigate scalability
challenges in light of growing size and number of data sources. These AI-powered capabilities include
machine learning, natural language processing and computer vision that help dig deep into volumes of
evidence meticulously analysing every bit to find the right patterns or even seemingly unsuspicious
outliers among data enabling forensic examiners to derive crucial insights faster and more accurately as
before. In this paper, the current situation of AI in digital forensics has been elaborated along with some
key achievements and case studies that demonstrate its application. It further explores the ethical
structure required to ensure AI usage is responsible, and recommends guidelines with regulatory
mechanisms to control unintended consequences. It is the contention of this paper that intersections
between AI and digital forensics can provide an important case study in current discussions surrounding
technology for societal good while respecting ethical norms. It ultimately calls for a middle-way, one
which embraces AI to strengthen forensics capabilities and yet places ethical considerations at the core
of any technological operation.
