Özet
Surveillance has become an integral part of modern organizational operations and has been a significant topic in organizational studies for a long time. The widespread adoption of digital technologies and the advancement of AI-powered systems have provided organizations with new ways to monitor employee behavior. Today, many organizations utilize a variety of digital surveillance tools to monitor employee activities. These tools encompass technologies such as biometric systems, wearable devices, email and social media monitoring software, internet usage tracking, and video surveillance. As a control mechanism for managers, these applications are used to improve organizational performance and ensure security. On the other hand, these practices have been criticized for negatively affecting the psychological and social conditions of employees by violating one of their fundamental privacy rights. In this study, we aim to investigate the negative impact of electronic surveillance on employees, who are increasingly vulnerable and in some ways victims of the digital age.
