Abstract

Silver (Ag) and Cadmium-oxide (CdO) reinforced Ag matrix nanocomposite coatings deposited on Copper (Cu) substrate with electrodeposition method. Effect of CdO addition and amount into electrolyte on Ag microstructural, mechanical and electrical properties were investigated. Microstructural investigation was carried out with Scanning Electron microscope (SEM), Electron dispersive spectrometry and X-ray diffractometer (XRD). Mechanical properties measured via microhardness vehicles indentation method from cross-section of nanocomposites under 50 g load with 10 s. Electrical properties was determined with two-probe method. CdO reinforcing to Ag matrix significantly decreased Ag grain size.
