Today, where aesthetics have become extremely important, bleaching treatments are frequently preferred by patients and dentists in the treatment of tooth discoloration. Devital bleaching treatment has been performed since the 19th century. In the treatment of tooth discolouration, it is important to understand the cause of the discolouration, its clinical features and the appropriate bleaching method and agent to be used. Bleaching treatments are easy to apply and have low risks when applied correctly. However long-term clinical data on bleaching treatments is limited. This chapter describes of the bleaching agents and their mechanisms of action.
