Abstract

In this study, the performance of the Estimation of Signal Parameters (ESPRIT) and Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) that improved by Quinn's 2nd interpolation method frequency estimation methods were compared in terms of estimation error rate and frequency calculation time. According to the observed results, the error rate in the FFT result was reduced when interpolation applied and although the interpolated FFT method was approximately 36 times faster than the ESPRIT method, the error rate of the ESPRIT method was lower. In real-time Radar Warning Receiver (RWR) systems, FFT improved by Quinn's 2nd method and in non-real-time ELINT systems that aim to make frequency estimation with high accuracy ESPRIT method can be preferred.
