One of the crucial achievements of mathematics education, which is
developing problem solving skills, carries out a crucial role in children's
educational success. In this research, postgraduate theses on problem
solving in pre-school education in Türkiye has been examined. The
scope of the research consists of 123 postgraduate theses, which were
approved and archived by the YOK Publication Documentation
Department between the years of 2000-2022, which was prepared using
the scanning model and whose subject section was education and
training. A total of 123 postgraduate theses, 103 of which were master's
and 20 were doctoral dissertations, were included in the sample of the
study. It was determined that the majority of the postgraduate theses on
problem solving in preschool were prepared as master's thesis studies,
and the majority of the said theses were consisted of theses written in
2019, in comparison with other years, and were studied within the
institute of educational sciences in the department of child development,
as a result of the research carried out using the document analysis
technique. Quantitative research theses have been found to constitute
the majority of the said theses, and it's been found that the research
conducted with minors between the ages of 0 and 6 were in the majority.
It was observed that the most favored data collection tool was
questionnaires, and that t-test and ANOVA test were often used, when
the distributions were examined according to data analysis methods. It
was determined that the number of studies examining social problemsolving skills and interpersonal problem-solving skills was in the
majority, that master's theses and doctoral dissertations initially focused
on preschool teachers' problem-solving skills, and later studies focused
on families' problem-solving skills and the use of problem-solving in
preschool, that social and cognitive skills, language development and
creativity themes were included in the doctoral dissertations, and that
among the theses examined, the most studied subject was problemsolving skills, interpersonal problem-solving skills and social problemsolving skills, after the examination of the subjects studied.
Okul öncesi dönemde matematik eğitiminin önemli kazanımları arasında yer alan problem çözme becerilerinin geliştirilmesi, çocukların okul başarısında önemli rol oynamaktadır. Bu araştırmada, Türkiye’de okul öncesinde problem çözme alanında yapılmış lisansüstü tezler incelenmiştir. Tarama modeli kullanılarak hazırlanan araştırmanın evrenini, YÖK Yayın Dokümantasyon Daire Başkanlığı tarafından 2000-2022 yılları arasında onaylanan ve arşivlenen, konu bölümü eğitim ve öğretim olarak dizgisi yapılan 123 lisansüstü tez oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemine, okul öncesinde problem çözme alanında yapılmış 103 yüksek lisans ve 20 doktora tezi olmak üzere toplam 123 lisansüstü tez dâhil edilmiştir. Doküman analiz tekniği kullanılarak yapılan araştırma sonucunda, okul öncesinde problem çözme konulu lisansüstü tezlerin çoğunlukla yüksek lisans tez çalışması olarak hazırlandığı, 2019 yılında yapılan tezlerin diğer yıllara göre daha fazla olduğu, dağılımın çoğunluğunun eğitim bilimleri enstitüsü bünyesinde ve çocuk gelişimi bölümünde çalışıldığı saptanmıştır. Nicel araştırma türündeki çalışmaların dağılımın çoğunluğunu oluşturduğu ve 0-6 yaş grubundaki çocuklarla yapılan çalışmaların çoğunlukta olduğu saptanmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak en çok anketlerin tercih edildiği ve veri analiz yöntemlerine göre dağılımlar incelendiğinde t-testi ve ANOVA testinin sık kullanıldığı belirlenmiştir. Çalışılan konular incelendiğinde sosyal problem çözme becerisi ve kişilerarası problem çözme becerilerinin incelendiği çalışmaların sayısının çoğunlukta olduğu, yüksek lisans ve doktora tezlerinin ilk olarak okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin problem çözme becerilerine odaklandığı ve sonraki çalışmaların ailelerin problem çözme becerileri ve problem çözmenin okul öncesinde kullanımı üzerinde yoğunlaştığı; doktora tezlerinde ise, sosyal ve bilişsel beceriler, dil gelişimi ve yaratıcılık temalarına yer verildiği, incelenen tezler arasında en çok çalışılan konunun problem çözme becerisi, kişiler arası problem çözme becerisi ve sosyal problem çözme becerisi olduğu saptanmıştır.
