Abstract

Infective endocarditis (IE) is an inflammatory disease of the endocardium, with a high morbidity and mortality, particularly when it progresses with predisposing conditions and complications. Embolic events induced by mural cardiac vegetations are a common and life-threatening complication of IE. Herein, we present a first case with left ventricular IE and a giant vegetation causing multiple emboli. © The Author(s) 2010.
