This article introduces a new technique for diagnostics and treatment of the first rib developed by Dr. Hüseyin Nazlikul, which has been successfully applied since 2006. In addition to manual medicine practitioners, this technique is especially suitable for neural therapists and acupuncturists who lack extensive manual medical training. The method can be easily performed by any physician and offers both diagnostic and therapeutic possibilities. The first rib plays an important role in thoracic and cervical biomechanics and can cause a variety of symptoms when dysfunctional. Blocking or irritation of the first rib can lead to compression of the stellate ganglion, which, in turn, may result in clinical symptoms such as thoracic outlet syndrome, headaches, and sensory disturbances in the arm. This article emphasizes the importance of combining manual medicine and neural therapy to enhance the effectiveness of therapeutic injections and for identifying and treating potential first rib blockages.
