The aim of this study is evaluation the factors of life satisfaction among immigrant
women. Life satisfaction which is affected by various factors are stated as general well-being
and satisfaction received from life of individual as a whole. Socioeconomic level, marriage,
gender, age, health, success, coping way of stress, depression, violence, integration, living
condition, productivity, social support can be related life satisfaction. Especially migration is
an important factor to reanalyse life satisfaction of immigrants. In the literature migration
handled in two ways one of them is negative concepts of migration such as depression, mental
health, stress factors, adaptation problems, the other one is positive aspects of adaptation to
explore migration such as; well-being, life satisfaction, affectivity, self-esteem, self-efficacy.
Actually, migration is one of the most stressful event which can be happen for a variety of
reasons and can be result positive or negative way for immigrants. It is known that most of
immigrants expect to improve their lives in one way or another. Life satisfaction also refers to
the difference between expectation and satisfaction. For immigrants this difference is tending
to revaluate their expectations and experiences for their whole life, family, friends, living area
after migration. Migration is related of the family as a whole and it is expected different
consequences of migration by gender. Migration experiences of women can be different from
men and change according to their role in the family, as a spouse, mother, as a young bride,
student or young employee. According to the result of literature review, it is seen that there is
a relationship between life satisfaction and age, integration level, socioeconomic level,
education, social support systems. New research and the understanding to be developed will
support existing programs and policies, help the benefits of migration, improve the
institutions of immigrants and reduce the risks and weaknesses they face.
