In order to assess DC-DC power electronic converters for a specific application, several comparison aspects are used, such as efficiency, ripple current, gain, number of elements and element stress. Also, various graphs are presented in articles as comparative tools. On the other hand, losses energy cost is an important assessment factor that does not have specific indices. These traditional comparison aspects and graphs do not give a clear vision to compare converters under variable load conditions. This work aims to create qualitative criteria based on the techno-economic concept to compare and assess power electronic converters operating under variable load conditions for building integrated photovoltaic system. Simulation of four different high gain DC-DC converter has been simulated by PSIM, and the results are analyzed for Turkish and Australian residential load profile cases.
