Özet

This is the report of the efficacy of cavernodorsal vein shunt surgery in a patient with 36 hours refractory low flow priapism and its long-term effects on erectile function. After the caverno-dorsal vein shunt operation, the patient reported erectile dysfunction. In the postoperative 15 days, the deep dorsal vein was ligated, and the shunt was closed. After the shunt closure, he reported normal erections and sexual activity. During the five-years-follow-up, the patient no longer has evidence of erectile dysfunction, and still reports ability to achieve adequate erections and sexual activity. Penile caverno-dorsal vein shunt is effective in relieving priapism and has an encouraging rate of preservation for subsequent spontaneous erections. The advantages of this technique include wide and direct drainage of the corpora to pelvic veins and no risk of urethral complications.
