Özet

In this work, it is aimed to prepare MnO2/PANI binary composites via one-step in-situ polymerization in H2SO4

and DBSA aqueous media having high specific capacitance, high energy, and power density for supercapacitor

applications. For the synthesis of MnO2/PANI, potassium permanganate (KMnO4) is used as an oxidizing

agent for aniline polymerization and manganese (II) chloride (MnCl2) as the precursor for MnO2 nanoparticles.

Herein, in this report, the effect of aniline monomer on the capacitive behavior was investigated. The chemical

structure and morphology of synthesized MnO2/PANI composites were characterized by transmission electron

microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), ultraviolet-visible (UVVis)

spectroscopy, and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. Moreover, the electrochemical

properties were characterized by cyclic voltammetry (CV), galvanostatic charge-discharge (GCD), and

electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) using a Gamry Reference 3000 potentiostat/galvanostat. The

results showed that the maximum specific capacitance of MnO2/PANI reached up to 300.2 F/g at a scan rate

of 10 mV/s and 181.2 F/g at a current density of 1 A/g in a two-electrode configuration. Because of its excellent

rate capability, approximately, 93.5% of the specific capacitance was retained between current densities of 0.5

and 5 A/g. The unique morphologic structure of the nanocomposite, and synergistic effect of MnO2 and PANI

ensure the binary nanocomposite to be a promising electrode material for supercapacitor applications.
