Occupational health and safety refers to a multifaceted field developed to identify hazards
that occur in the workplace or during the execution of work, which may impair the health and
well-being of employees. Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems can be
defined as a holistic approach created to provide a safer working environment in line with the
general strategies of organizations during the fulfillment of workplace processes. This paper
aims to identify the factors that may hinder the effective use of industry 4.0 technologies in
occupational health and safety management systems and to analyze the cause and effect
relationship between these factors using multi-criteria decision making methods. In this
study, two main research questions will be addressed: Research question 1 will examine the
inhibiting factors, while research question 2 will analyze the relationship between these
factors. The expert group to be used in this study will be selected among occupational health
and safety managers in the defense industry, construction, iron and steel, white goods and
furniture sectors in Türkiye. The research methodology consists of quantitative and
qualitative methods. These are Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM) and Scenario Planning
Structural Analysis (MICMAC) methods.
