Özet
This chapter focuses on the criteria importance through the intercriteria correlation (CRITIC) method, a robust objective weighting technique used in multicriteria decision-making. The chapter begins with a detailed overview of the CRITIC method, emphasizing its ability to integrate both the variability and intercorrelation of criteria to derive meaningful weight assignments. Two numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the method’s practical applicability and flexibility. The first example illustrates a basic facility location problem with a limited number of criteria and alternatives, while the second example addresses a real-world supplier selection scenario involving 12 criteria and eight alternatives. The results highlight the method’s capability to handle complex decision environments and provide objective, data-driven insights. Finally, the chapter discusses the advantages, limitations, and potential extensions of the CRITIC method, encouraging its integration with other decision-making frameworks and its application in uncertainty-laden contexts.
