Cultivated mushroom production, which has increasingly become an important agricultural sector in Türkiye, is also of considerable significance in terms of healthy nutrition. In mushroom cultivation, despite continuously changing outdoor climatic conditions, the temperature, relative humidity, and CO₂ concentration inside the growing room must be maintained within specified ranges. For this purpose, various heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems are employed. However, the operating costs of these systems have a significant impact on the overall production cost. In this study, an air-conditioning system was designed for a mushroom growing room, and the energy requirements per unit mass of mushrooms were calculated using psychrometric analyses. A dedicated analysis software was developed for the calculations, and analyses were conducted for growing periods occurring at different times of the year. The study considered five cities—Ankara, Istanbul, Izmir, Erzurum, and Kayseri—representing different climatic regions of Türkiye. Outdoor environmental conditions, including annual temperature and relative humidity data, were obtained from the Turkish State Meteorological Service. For the cultivation of mushrooms, the indoor environment was assumed to be maintained at 24 °C and 80% relative humidity, while fresh air was supplied at a rate of 0.00037 m³ air/(kg mushroom·s). The results showed that the highest annual heating energy requirement occurred in Izmir, with a value of 3,618 Wh/kg mushroom, while the highest cooling energy requirement was also observed in Izmir, at 51.058 Wh/kg mushroom. The highest humidification requirement was determined in Erzurum, with a value of 0.0057 g water/(kg mushroom·s).
