Bir Anlatı Aracı Olarak 1970’li Yıllar Türk Sinemasında Spor

Özet

Spor toplumsal bir olgu ve toplumsal eşitsizliklerin yeniden üretildiği bir alandır. Sinema da temsiller aracığıyla toplumsal anlamları yeniden üretir. Bu açıdan sinemada spor ile çift katmanlı bir temsil alanı oluşur. 1970li yıllar Türk sineması çeşitli film üretimlerinin yapıldığı, televizyonun yaygınlaştığı bir döneme işaret eder. Bununla birlikte 1970ler Türkiye’si ekonomik krizlerle toplumsal eşitsizliklerin derinleştiği bir dönem olarak öne çıkar. Bu nedenle 1970’li yıllar Türk sinemasındaki spor sahneleri döneme ait toplumsal ilişkisellikleri anlamak için farklı bir bakış açısı sunmaktadır. Çalışmanın amacı Bourdieu’nün spor olgusunu sınıf temelli bir biçimde ele alan kavramsal çerçevesinden faydalanılarak 1970’li yıllar Türk Sinemasındaki spor sahnelerinde toplumsal ilişkiselliklerin yeniden sunuluşunu anlamaktır. Filmlerdeki spor sahnelerine odaklanılarak toplumsal eşitsizliklerin sinematik temsilleri ile hâkim söylemin yeniden üretilip üretilmediği sorusuna cevap aranmaktadır. Çalışma 1970’li yıllar Türk sinemasında spor sahnelerinin kullanıldığı 10 filmi kapsar. Bu filmler amaçsal örneklem yönetimiyle seçilmiştir. Seçilen filmlerdeki spor sahnelerine odaklanılarak, toplumsal sınıf ve toplumsal cinsiyet eşitsizliklerinin nasıl temsil edildiği görsel içerik analizi yöntemi ile incelenmiştir. Analizin bulgularına göre 1970’li yıllar Türk sinemasındaki spor sahnelerinde toplumsal cinsiyet eşitsizliklerinin yeniden üretildiği ve toplumsal sınıfa dair pek çok sembolik anlamın etkin olarak kullanıldığı görülmüştür. Sonuç olarak, spor olgusu 1970’li yıllar Türk sinemasında toplumsal eşitsizliklerin yeniden üretilmesi için bir anlatı aracı olarak kullanılmıştır.
Sport is a social phenomenon creating a field for the perpetuation of social inequalities. Similarly, cinema reproduces social meanings through its representations. In this regard, cinematic representations of sports establish a multiple-layer space. The 1970s in Türkiye are characterized by the escalation of social inequalities with the economic crisis. Consequently, the 1970s provide a unique perspective on the social dynamics of the era through the lens of sports scenes in Turkish cinema. The aim of the study is to analyze the phenomenon of sport by using Pierre Bourdieu's conceptual tools to understand the representation of social relations in sports scenes in 1970s Turkish Cinema. This study aims to examine the representations of social inequalities in these sports sequences. It also aims to understand whether the dominant discourse is reproduced or not. The sample of the study comprises ten films from Turkish cinema in the 1970s which were chosen by using purposive sampling. The visual content analysis method was employed to analyze the representation of social class and gender inequalities in selected films by concentrating on sports scenes. The analysis revealed that in the 1970s, gender inequalities were reproduced in sports scenes in Turkish cinema, and numerous symbolic meanings associated with social class were effectively employed. Consequently, the phenomenon of sport was used as a narrative tool in Turkish cinema in the 1970s to reproduce social inequalities.
