Özet
What is an absolute right? In what ways is it different from non-absolute rights? How is absoluteness interpreted in human rights practice? In Torture, Inhumanity and Degradation under Article 3 of the ECHR: Absolute Rights and Absolute Wrongs, the author, Natasa Mavronicola, tackles these significant (and yet quite difficult) questions and delves into the meaning of absoluteness by specifically focusing on Article 3 of the European Convention on Human Rights (the ECHR or the Convention): the right not to be subjected to torture or inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.
