Özet
Restorative approaches for molars affected by hypomineralization are still being investigated to overcome the adhesion problems. The aim of this clinical study was to compare the efficacy of direct composite restorations and computer-aided design, and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD-CAM) fabricated nanohybrid ceramic material (NCM) restorations in young permanent molar teeth with hypomineralization. Thirty-two first and second young permanent molar teeth with hypomineralization were included were randomly assigned to one of two groups: (A)Direct composite restorations and (B)CAD-CAM fabricated NCM restorations. For Group A, a pre-treatment protocol was utilized prior to the application of a bonding agent and resin composite restorations. For Group B, after bevel preparation on enamel surfaces and nanohybrid ceramic material, Cerasmart™, was used in the fabrication of CAD-CAM fabricated NCM inlay or onlay restorations. All restored teeth were evaluated clinically and radiographically for 24-months. The level of statistical significance was set at p < 0.05. A statistically significant difference was observed between the groups in relation to surface roughness, marginal retention, and color stability (p < 0.05) showing higher clinical success of CAD-CAM fabricated NCM restorations. The clinical success of CAD-CAM fabricated NCM restorations has been demonstrated to be significantly higher than composite restorations regarding surface roughness, marginal integrity, and color stability. Therefore, dentists should consider them as alternative treatment for hypomineralized molar teeth.
