Özet
Educational conferences rely on proposal review to elevate standards, yet the process is frequently an isolated, tedious, and uncalibrated endeavor. Aligning directly with the "Unity in Diversity" theme, this poster details an innovative, joyful, and collaborative review model piloted by a spirited eight-member international team spanning four diverse time zones (Turkey, USA, Scotland, and New Zealand). Instead of siloed assessments, this project demonstrates the "art" of transforming a solitary administrative task into a rich, cross-cultural, and genuinely fun professional learning community. The project outlines a multi-step evaluation protocol amplifying diverse voices while maintaining rigorous standards. Following established guidelines, teams check assigned proposals, establish internal deadlines, undergo training, and score proposals before captains submit final consensus recommendations. Within this framework, our team’s core innovation was a "pulse check" calibration. Before independent scoring, all reviewers evaluated the same three highly distinct proposals, establishing shared pedagogical values and scoring norms. A structured synchronous consensus-building protocol then harmonized these asynchronous reviews. Crucially, this formal structure was brought to life by continuous, lighthearted communication via a team messaging group. This created a uniquely friendly atmosphere where reviewers shared smiles, actively supported one another, and turned a rigorous academic process into a joyful collaboration. Attendees will explore these practical steps, empowering them to adapt this equitable, diversity-driven, and joyful evaluation model for their own academic networks.
