Özet

Macroscale properties of cementitious composites are largely controlled by the interaction of their ingredients at the atomic level. Structural characteristics of cementitious composites at nanoscale therefore must be defined for a better understanding of their properties. In this chapter, a critical review of recent works on the nanoscale characterization of mechanical and microstructural properties of cementitious composites is presented. Within this context, nano-indentation, atomic force microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance, small-angle neutron scattering, X-ray computed nano-tomography, and some newly introduced techniques for nanoscale characterization, together with their recent applications on conventional and nano-tailored cementitious composites are discussed in detail.
