Prof. SIDDIK ÇALIK

Biography

I was born in Gümüşhane in 1963. After completing primary school here, I completed my secondary and high school education in Ankara. I graduated from Ankara University DTCF Department of History between 1985-1989, and then started working as an Ottoman Turkish specialist at the Istanbul Ottoman Archives. While working here, I completed my master's degree at Istanbul University, Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Turkish Economic History. In July 1993, I started working as a research assistant at Kırıkkale University, Department of History. At the same time, I started my doctorate at Istanbul University, Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Modern History. I graduated from this department in 2000 and received the title of doctor. In 2001, I was appointed as an assistant professor at Kırıkkale University, Department of History. I still worked as a faculty member in the same department until 2011. I started working as a faculty member at Yıldırım Beyazıt University, Department of History, which was established in 2011. I received the title of associate professor in 2018 and the title of professor in 2024 and I am still working at this university.
