Rahman Ademi was born in 1968 in Rostusha, Macedonia. He completed his high school education in Sarajevo. He completed his undergraduate education at Ankara University Faculty of Theology in 1994. In 1998, he completed his master's degree at Ankara University Institute of Social Sciences with the thesis titled “The Settlement of Turkish Islamic Culture in Bosnia and Herzegovina (Until the 16th Century)” and in 2006 he completed his doctorate at the same institute with the study titled “Macedonian Muslims in the Period of Abdulhamid II”. In 2009, he started to work as a faculty member at Çankırı Karatekin University, Faculty of Literature, Department of History. In 2014, he became an associate professor at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of History, and in 2019 he became a professor. He works on the Balkans during the Ottoman period and Ottoman foundations. He speaks English, Arabic, Bosnian, Serbian and Bulgarian. He is married and has three children.
